“Endgame” review

  • Amon’s “burnt” face is pretty creepy. But I wondering if he just wears that face paint all the time. It’s not like he expected Korra to show up or for her to know his back-story. Small plothole, but I guess it could be solved with Amon just wearing that paint all the time.
  • I kept expecting Korra to go into the Avatar State when Amon was about to take her bending away. I personally think that that would have been a better way to end the Amon fight.
  • I love how much Naga protected Bolin. She really followed Korra’s orders.
  • Iroh is awesome. I had to say it again. I loved that moment when he was hanging from the Equalist flag in front of Aang’s statue.
  • Asami and Hiroshi’s fight was awesome. I can’t believe Hiroshi was about to kill his own daughter. He got what he deserved. I wonder what happened to him after the fight. Did he die? I don’t think so. He was just electrocuted. I’m sure he went to jail afterward.
  • Did the Lieutenant just… die? I think his organs were crushed. Remember what that Nick game said about bloodbending crushing internal organs. They wouldn’t include that there for no reason. Then again, they included the Mako and Bolin would give their lives to say each other or something like that and that didn’t happen. Maybe season 2? Anyway, Amon said that he “served” him well so I don’t know. Still I felt really bad for the Lieutenant. He lost so many times and he dedicated his life to Amon and then he was killed (presumably) by him. It’s so sad.
  • Now here’s were my complaints start. Why could Korra still airbend after Amon took her bending? It doesn’t make sense. I’ve seen some people say that it’s because she wasn’t airbender until she started airbending. I just don’t believe that. She didn’t just become and airbender, she always was one, even though she couldn’t bend air. It’s like what Guru Pathik said to Aang. “You are the Avatar, and therefore, you are a firebender.” Bolin said her airbending was unlocked, but I just don’t get it. It just doesn’t make any sense. Maybe Bryke will explain it at Comic Con.
  • Another complaint, how could Amon take people’s bending? They said by bloodbending, but I want to know exactly how.
  • I’m really sad that we didn’t get to see Lin fight here. I’m sure she would have been an awesome non-bender.
  • So no character development for Bolin. That’s sad. This was supposed to be the only season so this would be all of Bolin’s character. Here’s hoping to a character arc next season.
  • I love Bumi. He looks and sounds just as crazy as his namesake. I hope we see more of him next season; and hopefully we’ll get to see Kya too.
  • I can’t help but feel the final fight between Korra and Amon was kind of anticlimactic. Amon is such a good fighter that I expected a lot more from him. Another reason why I wish Korra had gone into the Avatar State at that moment.
  • I still can’t believe what Tarrlok did. Wow. I just love their story so much. It was a tragic ending, but at the same time, it was beautiful. Such a great story. One of my favorite parts in the whole series.
  • It was great seeing Katara, and Tonraq and Senna again. I loved seeing all of friends/family at the end. It was really nice.
  • It was great seeing Aang again. I’m not too happy though with the cop out they used. I feel that Korra should have earned her bending back. Not necessarily by training or re-learning the elements, but by accepting that even though she lost three of the elements, it wasn’t the end of the world, or something to that extent. I feel she should have earned it. But that aside, I really enjoyed seeing Aang and the past Avatars. And the music. They used the theme from the original series. So beautiful!
  • The romance. I’m still effy on it. I like Makorra, but I don’t ship that as much as I ship Kataang. My favorite ship in Lok is Linzin. I hope season 2 will get me to like Makorra more.
  • My biggest complaint in the finale is the Equalists. What happened to them? Did the revolution just die down because of Amon’s true identity? But the Equalists had a reasonable cause. Non-benders really are being oppressed and the show didn’t solve that. This was supposed to be the only season so it would have been disappointing to end here with the Equalists. Maybe we’ll see something about them next season. Like a resolution on the oppression of non-benders. Just a resolution since the Equalists won’ be the villains next season.
  • And Lin got her bending back! Yes!
  • I loved the last line of the season, and what would have been the last line of the series. “I’m so proud of you, Avatar Korra.” It was epic, even though I think Korra should have worked a bit harder to earn that.
  • I do feel that some people are being a bit too harsh on the finale. Yes it has some plot-holes and a cop out, but I still enjoyed it. I just want some questions answered. After watching it a second time, I love it more than the first time watching it. So watch it twice (I’m sure you’ll watch it more than two times).
  • Overall, it was a great finale. Was it perfect? No. Was it terrible? No. Far from it. It was great, but not as good as the ATLA finales. But still a great finale.

“Skeletons in the Closet” review

  • I was going to do both parts of the finale in one review, but for some reason I want to give each episode their own review.
  • Anyway, onto the episode. I’m glad we get to see Sparkly Sparkly Bush Man (or Gommu but I prefer Sparkly Sparkly Bush Man even though it’s longer to type out) again. It’s a good thing Korra shared her fish with him. And that one of the many things I like about this show: How all these details come together as the show goes on.
  • I loved Bolin’s line. “Where does Hiroshi find the time to keep inventing new evil machines?” Seriously, Hiroshi, how do you invent all these machines in so little time. Either way, Hirsohi, I hate you. More on that in episode 12’s review.
  • Iroh is awesome and a great bender. That is all.
  • I loved the goodbyes. Mako and Bolin’s was great, but I wish we had gotten more on their backstory, like a flashback. And of course Sparkly Sparkly Bush Man tearing up during it was rather funny. And then Korra and Bolin’s. It was sweet. And her lending Naga to Bolin and Naga and Korra’s goodbye. I felt so sad. I love Naga and Korra’s relationship. And then the Masami break up. That was basically the break up. I liked the way it was handled.
  • I knew Amon was a bloodbender.
  • I love the whole Tarrlok/Amon backstory. One of the highlights in the finale. I love how it’s been building up since episode four’s flashback. It was such a well done story and made me care a lot about Amon and Tarrlok, but more on them in the next episode’s review. Props to Mike and Bryan; this was such a well done story. But it makes me sad that Mako and Bolin didn’t get flashbacks. That’s what we should have gotten in episode 5 instead of all that love triangle stuff (I’ll complain more on the love triangle later).
  • The animation and music is amazing as always. I really want a Korra soundtrack.
  • So yeah, the flashback was the best part of the episode, no doubt.
  • I don’t really have any complaints in this episode, but I do have some in the next one. But this was a great first half of the finale.

“Turning the Tides” review

  • Lin. WHY!?!? I cried. I actually cried when her bending was taken away, and I never cry during movies/shows. I hope it’s reversible. It has to be. Either way, Amon, you are going down.
  • General Iroh. Dante! I can’t. I made this weird noise when he first spoke and then I was so happy when I found out his name was Iroh. I bet it Zuko’s grandson since he looks too young to be his son.
  • Rohan! I can’t. I love this family so much. I think he’s a non-bender; Pema deserves to have a non-bender child in her family.
  • Those fight scenes! Tenzin’s awesome airbending. Asami kicking Equalist butt. Mako redirecting lightning. The airbabies owning the Equalists. And Lin’s epic airship slice. So many great moments.
  • Poor Lieutenant. He’s had so much bad luck. This time he gets blasted by Jinora and later gets slapped by Naga (why did he just jump at a polar bear dog? What was he expecting to do? I guess electrocute her. Still it’s a rather flawed plan. Anyway, I’m surprised he hasn’t died yet. First he fell of the roof in episode 6 and this time he fell a large distance into a bush.)
  • I feel bad for Asami and I still think Mako’s a jerk. Asami confronts him about the kiss and he just uses the old “everything’s crazy” excuse. I know Katara used the same one in 3x17, but she wasn’t doing anything wrong. Mako, just please pick one girl already (even though it’s obvious you’ve picked Korra. Just break up with Asami already or instead, have Asami break up with him). But I did like Asami’s line to Mako about sitting “in the back… with Korra.”
  • Bolin barely had any lines in this episode. Sure, he had that one good fighting scene, but that was it. I just wish he wasn’t shoved off to the side. Oh well, I don’t really expect much from now, what with only two episodes left (who knows, though. There was that poster Bryan did that had Bolin all angry and then we have him fighting the mecha tanks in the promo so maybe we’ll get something in the finale). I’m sure we’ll get that character arc we’ve heard of next season. But it is kind of disappointing to think that this would be all of Bolin’s character since season one was originally supposed to be the only season.
  • I have to mention Lin again. She risked her life to save Tenzin and his family. And the way she went down. Lin, you really are my hero. All I can say is Toph would be proud.
  • I have a feeling Hiroshi’s going to end up on the good side. I think he cares more about his daughter than the revolution.
  • The Equalists are the best villains ever. No doubt. But they still need to go down.
  • Best episode yet! even though that’s what I say after every single one except episode 5. All the action, the animation is still awesome, the music is so beautiful.
  • Now my only complaints about this episode are the dialogue (some of it bothered me like Lin’s “old friend” line) and the fartbending. I just find it to be crude humor and I don’t really find it funny. The show has had other bathroom jokes before, but fartbending it the only that’s bothered me.
  • Two episodes left. I just can’t believe next week is the end. And then comes the horrible hiatus. Anyway, I don’t think I’ll survive the finale; I was an emotional wreck after this episode (but then again, I’m an emotional wreck after every episode so two in a row will kill me). One hour of Korra. There’s so many questions left. All I can say is the finale will be epic and will leave us all drowning with feels.  :(

“Out of the Past” review

  • That flashback. I can’t. It’s so good to see the gang (or at least part of it) again. I thought Toph and Sokka’s voices were perfect; they both still have their personalities (I’m so happy Toph still calls Aang twinkle toes). I’m still not sure about how I feel about Aang’s voice. I don’t know what to think of it. I really want more flashbacks in season two, preferably with a happy Aang and the entire gang having a good time.
  • I was freaking out when Yakone was bloodbending everyone, especially Toph and Sokka. We don’t know about what happened to Toph or Sokka so I was trembling at thought of either of them dying. Thankfully, they didn’t.
  • I died with happiness when they played the original ATLA theme when Aang was chasing Yakone.
  • As great as the flashback was, I’m still sad that Aang didn’t talk to Korra directly. Maybe we’ll get that next season or maybe in the season finale.
  • Finally, Asami knows about the Makorra kiss. I just hate that Mako didn’t tell her. Speaking of Asami, I feel so bad for her. She’s lost her mother, her father is evil, and now her boyfriend cares about some other girl. Mako, stop leading Asami on. Just tell her the truth. Or Asami, dump him. I just hope this triangle is resolved in a way that no one gets hurt.
  • Bolin continues to be funny. But I just wish that he would be something more than just a comic relief character. At least he did that awesome Earthbending move in the tunnel. But still, he should have cared a lot more about Korra’s kidnapping.
  • Lin is still awesome. The way she put on her suit. And how she cares so much about her officers. Lin, never change. Bryke should make an animated movie about Lin. I’d watch it. I’d pay to see it over a thousand times in theaters.
  • Who is that guy representing the Air Nomads on the council? It can’t be Tenzin since he was about 8 at the time, and Aang’s obviously behind Yakone.
  • Tarrlok’s butler/servant/assistant is awesome. I had a feeling she/he would tell someone about Korra visiting Tarrlok. But seriously, is the assistant a male or female? I honestly don’t know. Maybe finding out who the voice actor might help?
  • Seriously, how is this a kids show? The whole bloodbending was creepy especially in the beginning when Tarrlok was levitating Korra and when Yakone was twisting Aang’s body (that’s still so painful to watch).
  • I kind of feel bad for Tarrlok. He lost his bending. Even after what he did to Korra, I still don’t think that was the appropriate punishment.
  • What is Amon? How can he dodge all that bending, take bending away, and overcome bloodbending? I don’t think he’s human. I just don’t know. Still, Amon’s a great villain and I’m curious to see as to how they’re going to top him in season 2.
  • I just remembered Pema’s baby. It will totally be born during a time of danger. I have a feeling it will be in the next episode, because the finale seems packed.
  • Only three episodes left. That trailer. I can’t. The battle is going to be epic. One full of hour of Korra (well, minus the commercials). I don’t if I’ll survive. I’m so curious to see how they’re going to wrap up this plot in three episodes. In the trailer it shows Amon about to take Korra’s bending away and she closes her eyes. I bet when she opens them, they’ll be glowing. And she’ll go all Avatar State on Amon. Oh, and the Equalists are going to get it. No one puts a mask on Aang’s statue. By the way, people keep saying that Korra’s going to lose her bending or that they’re going to be a cliffhanger, but may I remind you that season 1 was originally going to be the only season in LoK so no cliffhanger. Anyway, I jut don’t know how Bryke will top this season, especially with this amazing plot and villain.

“When Extremes Meet” review

  • Tarrlok, I hate you. I hope Korra goes all Avatar State on you. But, one good thing came out of Tarrlok kidnapping Korra; we’ll get to see some place outside Republic City (due to his “say goodbye to Republic City, Avatar Korra. You’ll never see it again” line). It’ll most likely be a spiritual place so she’ll be able to contact Aang so he can go all Roku talking to Jeong Jeong on him. Anyway, Tarrlok, I’m going to put your face on a punching bag and hit that bag all week. That actually sounds kind of fun. It might help pass the time until episode 9.
  • Korra and Tarrlok’s fight was amazing. One of my favorite fights this season tied with Lin and Korra vs the Equalists in episode 6. Tarrlok cutting some of Korra’s hair reminded me of Katara doing the same to Azula in 2x20.
  • So Yakone is a Bloodbender as a lot of people predicted. He better not have any of the Gaang. It hurt me so much seeing Sokka, Toph, and Aang in pain. I can’t wait to see what Aang did with Yakone (he most likely took away his bending).
  • I did not see Tarrlok being a Bloodbender coming. It was a great twist. And now we know why the other three council members agree with Tarrlok on everything.
  • The car chase/fight was incredible. I love seeing the Krew working together. And I love how they call themselves Team Avatar.
  • Finally, Meelo returns. And he has some awesome moments, like his crushing on Asami.
  • I loved Korra’s reaction to Ikki telling Asami about Korra crushing on Mako. And Ikki’s reaction to Korra shutting her out of the room.
  • And sadly no Lin this episode. :(
  • Naga, go follow Tarrlok’s car and eat him bust Korra out.
  • Korra, Mako, Bolin and Asami are finally friends. Like actual friends. They’re bonding. Yes!
  • Asami’s car is awesome. But I’m still wondering how she got it off the island  and how she got it on the island in the first place. I bet it flies. In fact, where did she get all her stuff from? Did she just go back to her mansion? With just Mako and Bolin to help her in case something bad happens. What about the Equalists? I wonder if Hiroshi is still living there.
  • “You’re our Avatar, too.” I just love this line.
  • I’m glad we got to see more on how non-benders are being oppressed.
  • Tarrlok’s office is beautiful. Love the waterfall.
  • I wonder how he’s going to explain the damage done to the courtroom in the morning. There’s supposed to be a meeting. And there’s no way he can clean it up by himself in time.
  • Mako needs to tell Asami about this kiss. It’s not right to not tell her. He cheated on her. She needs to know.
  • I need episode nine now. Time to see Aang and have him explain these flashbacks.
  • Best episode yet!

“The Aftermath” review

  • Asami! Finally, some character development. It’s great to see another strong female character.
  • What is it with Firebenders killing parents? I think they might be connected somehow. Maybe it’s the same Firebender? There’s just no way Bryke would use the same “Firebender killed my parents/parent” over and over again without a reason.
  • Hiroshi is an Equalist. I suspected this, but I thought Asami was more likely to the Equalist.
  • The Hiroshi and Asami conflict reminded me of the Mechanist and Teo.
  • Some machines. Things are getting serious (even more than the last episode). They remind me of the machines in the first Avatar, which also featured an anti-bending conflict.
  • I loved the racing scene. It’s nice to see Korra and Asami interact.
  • Yes! Lin! You continue to be awesome. Forget the law, Lin. Do what’s right. Toph would be proud.
  • I just love Lin’s determination. How she’s willing to break the law to save the city. And how she cares about her Metalbenders.
  • Poor Tahno. I actually felt bad for him.
  • Mako, what is your deal? Ending your friendship with Korra because she was doing what she thought was right? And after all she did to help you (like helping you save your brother and entering the team when they needed another player, just to name a few). Come on, Mako. Maybe you should take your own advice and get your act together. Now, on a much happier note, I hope now that with all four of them living on the island, that they’ll grow much closer together and maybe Mako will be nicer to Korra.
  • Korra finally found the bathroom! And I love the music when she was in there, about to powder herself. It was hilarious.
  • Bolin was hilarious with Pabu and Tenzin. I loved when he dropped Lin.
  • Cabbage man statue! I want Korra and the Krew to somehow destroy the cabbage cart and the cabbage that Cabbage man is holding up.
  • Secret factory! Secret factory! Under the mansion! Secret secret secret secret factory!
  • Tenzin! Finally some action moments. I just wish he didn’t get knocked out so soon. Oh well, I know we’ll see him fighting again soon.
  • No Meelo. :( That’s three episodes in a row. Maybe in the next one, since the entire Krew is staying there now.
  • I really want Lin to stay on Air Temple Island. All the tension between her and Pema.
  • I can’t wait to see how Ikki and Jinora act toward Asami, since she’s getting in the way of their ship.
  • I thought Korra was very mature in the last scene, with her letting Asami stay at the Air Temple and telling Mako to comfort her. You could learn a thing or two from her, Mako.
  • Beautiful animation and beautiful music, as always.
  • Without a doubt my favorite episode so far (I’m probably going to say this after every new episode).

“And the Winner Is…” review

  • Lin. Wow, you are your mother’s daughter.
  • I have a feeling Lin’s going to get fired in the next episode. Lin did say she would take responsibility of the citizens in the arena.
  • I knew Linzin/Tenlin was canon. And now I think I ship them more than Pemzin.
  • I was yelling at the TV when the Wolfbats were using illegal moves. Something should be done about bribing the refs for the next tournament (we all know that there will be another tournament).
  • That fight scene. I can’t. Lin and Korra working together. That was just. Just imagine how awesome the finale will be.
  • I felt so bad for Tahno when his bending was taken away. I know he cheated and all, but I don’t think that was the right punishment. He was begging. He would give anything to save his bending. Bending means everything to a bender. I just. So many chills during this part.
  • I still think Amon isn’t Energybending. He didn’t put his hand on the person’s neck like last time. Something’s fishy.
  • The animation. Why is it so beautiful? Can I please marry it?
  • The music. The Track Team, I applaud you. It was so epic when Korra came out of the water, and during the Lin and Korra vs Equalists fight. Imagine what the finale’s music will be.
  • Shiro Shinobi is awesome. His liveblogging was the funniest part of the episode.
  • I need Tenzin in action. I want to see him fight. Soon. It’ll happen soon.
  • Not gonna lie, I was freaking out the first time I saw this episode when the Lieutenant electrocuted Korra, Mako, and Bolin. I was about to scream. Luckily, Korra got her revenge.
  • I also freaked out when Lin and Tenzin got electrocuted.
  • Asami and Hiroshi are evil. I know it. Note how they was only shown before the match, but never shown when the Equalists were attacking.
  • It was so creepy when the people in the audience will pulling up their masks. I was like “Oh god.”
  • Sadly, no Meelo, or any of the kids, for that matter. Oh well, the ending made up for it.
  • This is without a doubt, my favorite episode so far. I’m so excited for the finale.
  • What is it with Tenzin and his dramatic ending lines. The one in “The Revelation” didn’t bother me at all, but this one was a bit over dramatic. It was the way he said it.
  • Lin. She’s deserves another mention. You are just so awesome. I need more Lin action. Like now.

“The Spirit of Competition” review

  • Bolin was hilarious in this episode. That is all.
  • I don’t what to ship anymore. I like Borra more than Makorra, but I’ll be happy with whatever the outcome. Just as long as Korra is happy.
  • Mako. What is wrong with you? You can’t have two girls. Pick Korra one. You’re so unpredictable.
  • I died laughing when Korra confessed her love to Mako. Oh Korra. You just don’t go up to someone and say that you think you’re “meant for each other.”
  • I can’t believe how much Bryke got under the radar. Bolin and the noddles and Tahno’s line.
  • Speaking of noddles, I loved the “Flameo Instant Noddles.” I really want some.
  • That kiss. It must be an Avatar thing to kiss someone when they say their confused.
  • And Bolin crying after the kiss. I was laughing, but I felt so bad for him.
  • I see Korra continues her tradition of amazing comebacks. “I’ll unnecessary rough you up.”
  • Worst part of this episode was no Tenzin or Meelo. :(
  • I support the theory that Tenzin was with Lin before Pema told him of her feelings.
  • Asami. What is wrong with you? You need some character development. Pronto. I still think you’re an Equalist.
  • I support the theory that Tahno is a Bloodbender.
  • One of the best lines of the episode, “You wanna go toe to toe with me, pretty boy?”
  • I loved the Borra date.
  • Yes! Korra’s a healer. And she learned from Katara, the best there is.
  • And I’m angry because there was no preview for the next episode. I don’t care if “Bolin makes [you] lol” and I know that you don’t know who “Amon really is.” We all know what’s going to happen in the next one for the most part, but I really wanted a preview.
  • I’m not a huge fan of romance so this episode is so far my least favorite. But I still really enjoyed it. I think it’s the funniest episode of the series so far. However, I want to get back to the Amon plot and I want to see some Airbending training. The next episode is going to be intense what with Amon crashing into the arena.
  • 10/10 (my only complaint is the lack of Tenzin and Meelo).

“The Voice in the Night” review

  • Korra. Poor Korra. I’m glad that she told Tenzin that she was afraid. As many people have said before, I hope that means Korra unlocked her first chakra.
  • Amon continues to scare me to no end. I think he was being a coward when he attacked Korra, seeing as how he brought his Equalists. Come on, Amon.
  • Meelo had some awesome moments in this episode. He didn’t appear at all in the last one, so that was saddening, but this episode made up for it with his “beep beep” and Tenzin’s “Meelo, no, that is not a toilet.”
  •  Tenzin continued to be awesome. I really love his father-daughter relationship with Korra.
  • I really hate Tarrlok. That is all.
  • Asami is beautiful. But I can’t help but thinking that she’s hiding something. Something about her seems…off. I support the theory that she’s an Equalist.
  • I bet Sokka was the one who gave Hiroshi Sato the loan. Hopefully we’ll find out who it was.
  • Asami getting in the middle of Makorra. I’m not an a huge shipper, but I like Makorra better than Masami. I find Masami to be kind of boring (no offense to Masami shippers), so I hope Asami gets together with Bolin.
  • The music continues to be awesome. I loved all the Chinese jazz music.
  • And the animation is still amazing. It’s so beautiful. I’m in love with every frame in this show.
  • I loved the Korra-Tenzin scene at the end. It was so sad.
  • I want to know Mako and Bolin’s reactions to Korra fighting Amon alone. I’m sad we didn’t get that (most likely due to time reasons), so I hope we get something in the next episode.
  • I wish this show was an hour long instead of 22-23 minutes.
  • I love Avatar Aang Memorial Island. It’s one of my favorite locations in the show so far, next to Air Temple Island, and I hope we get more of it later on.
  • And of course, who could forget the flashback. I’m really interested on this whole Yukone (sp?) situation. What did he do to make Aang so angry? And how does it relate to Amon and the Equalists? I hope Yukone isn’t Amon’s father; I feel that that would cliche, but Bryke decides to do it, I know that they’ll make it work.
  • Aang was trying to contact Korra. I just know it. Come on, Korra, get in to the Spirit World. I really want to see Aang again.
  • My heart broke into a million pieces when Korra said “Aang?”
  • Lin returns! I felt like we weren’t going to see her again until the episode where she rescues Korra (which I’m willing to bet 100 yauns that it’s going to be in the sixth episode).
  • So the next episode is mainly Pro-bending. Don’t know how I feel about that. I’m just so in love with the plot, that Pro-bending doesn’t interest me as much as I thought it would. Maybe I just need to see another match.
  • I loved Ikki’s lines to Tarrlok.
  • My favorite part of the episode was from Amon’s ambush to the end. It was amazing.

“The Revelation” review

  • This episode was freaking creepy. And Amon is an awesome villain.
  • I don’t think that was Energybending. Amon only touched the benders’ forehead and not their chest, plus there was no glowing lights. It seemed different than what Aang did.
  • And I don’t buy Amon’s backstory. It just seems fake. And it reminds me of Mako’s backstory.
  • I think that guard is voiced by Tyro’s voice actor. They sound very similar.
  • I like how Lightning Bolt Zolt’s lightning went from that, to Firebending to nothing. And it was creepy at the same time.
  • I thought Korra would go visit Sparkly Sparkly Bush Man (I know he has a name, but I love calling him this) when she said that she had an idea and went to the park.
  • I was freaking out when Bolin was next in the line-up. I knew that his bending wouldn’t be taken away because I just knew it wouldn’t happen to a main character, but I was still freaking out.
  • I love Korra and her “looking for a bathroom” excuses. I hope it becomes a running gag.
  • I think I ship Makorra now. I wasn’t sure what to ship yet since I had to see more of the characters, but now I’m really liking it.
  • The music. As always, it was amazing. I freaked out when “The Rally” came on.
  • I love how Korra knocked out that guard without bending. I kept expecting her to bend, but I was surprised when she didn’t.
  • I wasn’t a huge fan of the new intro. It didn’t have that epic feel of the one from the first episode. It was so short. I did, however, like the previously on Korra thing. But I would have preferred having Aang narrate it.
  • How is this a kids show? How? I’m a teenager and I was shaking when it ended.

“A Leaf in the Wind” review
  • Pro-bending. I love it so much! Everything about it is amazing!  I can’t wait to see more of it.
  • Airbending training is awesome! Nothing else to say here.
  • The animation. Again, so beautiful. All the animation. Pro-bending, training, Korra swimming to the arena, the locations, everything is amazing.
  • Tenzin’s family. Again, they’re awesome. Jinora and her “I will make no such promises” and Meelo and his craziness.

To quote Ursa “What is wrong with that child?” No, but seriously, Meelo’s awesome. I’m definitely excited to see what else he has to offer.

  • Mako and Bolin were awesome! I loved their bending and they had some great lines. “This girl is crazy.” Bolin and Korra’s first conversion. “Oh you implied it.” And Bolin with his fangirls.
  • I seriously think Tenzin is going to be my favorite character. He’s still tied with Korra. Still, this gave him a lot of points in my book.
  • The music. It was amazing. The Track Team is doing a great job once again.
  • I loved this episode a lot more than the first one (and I really liked the first one). I loved the Pro-bending matches. I just had a lot of fun with this episode. It was shame there was no Pabu and Naga, as far as I saw, but I don’t want them shoving everything into one episode, making it feel rushed.
  • So far, Korra is doing a really good job of living up to ATLA. It might even surpass it.

“Welcome to Republic City” review

  • The Zuko’s mom joke. I’m not kidding, I literally laughed out loud and had to pause the video. Even after all these years, Bryke still knows how to troll.
  • Basically all the humor. Meelo on Tenzin’s head. The hobo and the sparkly bush. Korra arguing with the Equalist guy. “You’re oppressing yourself.” Lin and Korra interaction and Lin and Tenzin. “Cut the garbage, Tenzin.” Korra and Tenzin.
  • I love Tenzin and his family. I need more of them. I’m thinking Tenzin might become my favorite character. I need to see more of him to make a decision, but right now, he’s tied with Korra. And I absolutely love Air Temple Island.
  • The music. That music. I loved the music during the scene where Korra takes Naga out for a ride. So epic. And the main theme. And the credits. And the chase. And everything! SOUNDTRACK, now! Come on, Nick, soundtrack.
  • The pacing. The first time I watched the episode, I thought it felt rather rushed. Some of this was probably due to all the leaks prior to the full episode release. But, after a second viewing, I think the pace is perfect. I can’t believe how much they managed to fit into 22-23 minutes.
  • The gang’s legacy. All those mentions and references. It was perfect!
  • Korra staring at Aang’s statue. She did this weird thing. It’s like when Aang stared at Roku’s statue.
  • The animation. It was beautiful.
  • The voices. Perfect! Some people are complaining about Janet Varney as Korra, but I think she’s perfect. J.K. Simmons as Tenzin. His line deliveries are just epic. “Please help me.” And Lin. And Amon. Everyone. Is. Perfect.
  • I think that shopkeeper with the phonograph is the Cabbage Man legacy Bryke told us about.
  • My favorite scenes are Tenzin and his family coming to the Southern Water Tribe and the whole interaction that happens. And then later when Korra and Tenzin and his family are on the dock of Air Temple Island. That hug. And I loved the Lin, Korra, and Tenzin scene.
  • Just a perfect episode.
